We meet on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm till 9.00pm for school years 7 upwards.
There has been a Crusaders group in Yatton for the last 35 years. It began with the formation of a small boys-only group in 1968, with a girls’ group being started in 1971. Thanks to the dedication of the original leaders and their personal faith and vision, the groups merged, forming a single group which celebrated its 21st birthday in 1992. Over the next few years, there were several changes, and in 2002 the older Crusaders joined the Yatton Methodist Church youth group and Mid Week Crus began.
At Mid Week Crus we try to show our love of Jesus through the way we play games and activities. As a youth group, teamwork is important but so is fun, and through the games and short talks we are able to incorporate how we can make Jesus our friend.
Over the years, we have enjoyed a great many activities, including canoeing, ten pin bowling, and weekend camps away. For some of these, we have joined with other Crusader groups from the west of England, and other areas too.
We have taken part in the area MAD day (Multi-Activity Day), which included swimming, arts & crafts, Unihoc and football. In one competition we excelled ourselves, coming second and bringing home a shield.
Our future plans are to continue our teaching and encourage the group to grow in both membership and in faith.
