The beliefs and Values
of Yatton Methodist Church
Worship
We aim to encourage individuals to experience the presence of God day by day, and to offer God the best we can in all we do
In our Sunday Worship we aim:
• to meet the varying worship needs of all who come
• to provide worship that will be accessible to those seeking faith.
• to demonstrate the unity of the body of Christ through joining in ecumenical services.
The Christian life is a continual offering of oneself to God in adoration and service.
Discipleship
We aim:
• to encourage individuals to develop a personal relationship with God through private prayer and Bible reading
• to offer teaching which relates biblical principles to daily life
• to encourage every member to use the gifts God has given them within the life of the church
The Christian life is a life long process of growing in the likeness of Christ.
“Since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God, and pleasing to him, which is the spiritual way for you to worship.” Romans 12: 1
“He gave... So that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Eph 4: 12b-13
Fellowship
We aim:
• to develop a network of small groups where friendships can be built, mutual pastoral care can be expressed and faith can be encouraged
• to hold social events which enable relationships to develop within the wider church
The Christian life is lived in relationship with other believers.
“Love each other as I have loved you.”
John 15: 12
